Atlanta asteroid attack

Atlanta asteroid attack

O.K., relax! There really wasn’t an asteroid strike in Atlanta today.

That said, this is an image I took of downtown near the 17th Street bridge last month. A little Photoshop magic and there you have it. Atlanta burns up…again! Why do think they call it ‘Hotlanta’?

This graphic inspired by an online PS tutorial and a recent show on the Discovery, TLC or one of those channels.

Egypt in Crisis

Egypt in Crisis

While watching the news last night, I became inspired to create a graphic for the ongoing situation in Egypt. A graphic designer is often influenced to create images based on world events. It’s what we do.

My first venture into deep space

My first venture into deep space

O.K. You got me. I really haven’t been into deep space. Although have been accused from time to time of being a little spaced out.

After looking online at a website devoted to Photoshop artwork, http://www.psdvault.com, I decided to try my hand at some original space-themed artwork.

While all of the examples on the above mentioned site are absolutely fantastic, I decided to give it a try.

So, without further delay, here’s my first stab at space artwork. The nice thing about this type of art is there really is no wrong way to go about it. It really does come from whatever is in your head at the time.

I realize I have a long way to go so your feedback is highly encouraged.

The growing popularity of the night fire image taken at the range during the 2010 Best Warrior Competition at Fort Lee has gotten even bigger play.

The January 2011 issue of Soldiers Magazine featured the image as a background on pages 6 and 7.

Pretty cool!

Journalism workshop helps Army Reserve teens cope with military life

ATLANTA – As long as there has been an American military, there have always been Families who often incur the rigors of military life when a loved one leaves for a deployment.

For many of these Families, the strain can be unbearable especially today when deployments come up so frequently.

One group of professional journalists and volunteers are hoping that a relatively new program can help the children of military service men and women find an outlet to deal with the emotional stress of military life.
