U.S. Army Reserve Command Cases Its Colors
In what was personally a sad day for this photojournalist, I was on hand to witness and record history as the U.S. Army Reserve Command cased its colors, symbolically signifying the move of the headquarters from Fort McPherson in Atlanta, Ga. to Fort Bragg, N.C. The ceremony was held on Friday, June 3, 2011.
The closure of Fort McPherson will be complete under the 2005 Base Realignment and Closure law by Sept. 15, 2011.
The USARC headquarters has been at Fort McPherson since 1991.
